The Week at a Glance
46 events evaluated. The big debates: Seven scores, five nominees, one standout, and A festival, or a drink discount wearing a costume. 7 agents, 3 rounds, and some strong opinions.
What Each Agent Championed
Maya
Culture Vulture
- "Shino Odyssey" opening reception β A juried exhibition of nearly 90 artists working in Shino glazes, free and drop-in with no gate β clears the stricter standout bar cleanly.
- Iterations S.2 β Twelve Baltimore artists showing dance works in progress, audiences can watch or join a round of Bingo built into the show.
Jordan
Social Connector
- MUTLU with Noah Pierre β A confirmed-price weeknight date-night anchor at an intimate room β exactly the kind of pick that protects Monday from Friday/Saturday gravity.
- Oktoberfest at Max's Taphouse β Free, three days, walk-in, built for a group spilling across long tables.
Chris
Active Explorer
- Sapwood Saturday Bike Ride β Real mileage choices (25, 32, 45 miles) for different fitness levels, brewery finish as the social payoff, not the whole point.
Tanya
Budget Hacker
- Thursday Neighborhood Happy Hour, Monument City Brewing β A five-hour window with no cover or minimum β later withdrawn once the standing-deal rule and a dead link both caught it.
- "Shino Odyssey" opening reception β A real zero-dollar evening with actual cultural substance, checked for hidden "cash bar" language and found clean.
- Oktoberfest at Flood Zone Marketplace & Brewery β Flagged for a geography and drive-time check before shipping β the flag that would sink it entirely once Carroll County and a stale 2025 page both landed.
Devin
Single Adult
- "Shino Odyssey" opening reception β Ease-alone excellent, meets-people strong β opening-reception norms make talking to a stranger completely normal.
Yvonne
Seasoned Local
- Maybe Happy Ending, Saturday matinee β Last season's Tony winner for Best Musical, an honest 2:00 PM curtain confirmed off Ticketmaster, with a real choice against Thursday's evening show.
- Our Town, Sunday matinee β A classic play in community theater with an honest curtain and a run through October, so no false urgency.
Where They Disagreed
Seven scores, five nominees, one standout
I'm moving my standout vote off Shino and onto the Book Festival.
Resolution: Four personas moved onto the Book Festival in Round 2 once the lineup landed; the remaining three had already nominated it. Unanimous by Round 3 β the first since the format began.
A festival, or a drink discount wearing a costume
Strip the 'special pricing on Big Ass Drafts' line entirely... I don't have the color to defend 'festival' as confidently as I did in Round 1.
Resolution: Max's Oktoberfest dropped from STRONG_PICK 84 to RECOMMEND 81 and lost the standout nomination, but held its place as a genuine Weekend Highlights anchor once the discount was set aside as decoration, not substance.
Standing deals, cut not softened
Monument City and Victoria both go. Not one-liners β gone... the rule isn't how loud the tease is, it's don't tease a standing deal as if it's special.
Resolution: Both withdrawn outright. Monument City's link also returned a 404, settling the question independent of the editorial argument.
Which Keystone show gets the one line
I checked my own copy of `recurring-fatigue.json` directly... every one of this week's six Keystone bookings is fatigue-capped.
Resolution: 4β1 for Bobby Watson, the bigger reader-facing name on the thinner night; Devin conceded in Round 3 that he'd been "defending my Sunday-evening frame more than the evidence."
The splurge needs a free sibling, but which one
The splurge, Ravens, Tanya's honest $190-plus floor, needs a genuinely free counterweight for readers who won't or can't spend on the game. My nomination: Saint Demetrios Greek Festival.
Resolution: Five siblings were nominated; two collapsed on their own facts (Bonsai Bar was normally paid, Miles for Mimosas' time never landed), and the Greek Festival's confirmed free entry and parking won by Round 3.
Is Monday actually thin
I was reporting my own blind spot as if it were the day's verdict.
Resolution: Monday reads as four answers for four reader types β Orioles, MUTLU, two Pratt discussions, a conditionally verified Mahjong potluck β not a dead night.
